Paul Schweitzer, MD

Dr. Paul Schweitzer is the Associate Chief of Cardiology and Director of the Arrhythmia Service and pacemaker clinic at Beth Israel Medical Center. He specializes in the diagnosis and management of cardiac arrhythmias, and the use of non-invasive and invasive diagnostic procedures. His research interests cover a range of arrhythmia topics, including atrial fibrillation and device therapy.

Dr. Schweitzer earned his medical degree from Slovak University in Kosice, Slovakia and his Candidate of Science degree (PhD equivalent) at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. After coming to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Sinai Hospital in Detroit and a fellowship in cardiology at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital (now Brigham and Women’s Hospital). He was formerly Director of the Heart Station at New York Medical College, Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Jersey City Medical Center and Chief of Cardiology at Bronx Veterans Medical Center.

Dr. Schweitzer is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases and is a Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
