Screening and Prevention Strategies for Cancer in Primary Care



Physicians affiliated with the multidisciplinary Continuum Cancer Centers of New York discuss screening and prevention strategies for Colorectal Cancer, Anal Cancer, Lung Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Breast Cancer, and Skin Cancer (melanoma). There will also be presentations on smoking cessation and the high-risk genetics of cancer. 

Target Audience

Primary care practitioners, including physicians and nurses

Objectives

• To gain full knowledge of current screening guidelines and technologies for breast, melanoma, high risk lung, anal, colorectal, prostate and GI cancers.
• To gain an understanding of how to integrate pedigree testing and genetics with cancer screening and prevention in primary care.
• To develop a screening pathway for identifying and interviewing patients and families at risk for cancer.
